METRO LOUISVILLE REVENUE COMMISSION EXTENDS TAX FILING DEADLINE

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has announced that the 2019 occupational licensing tax filing and payment deadline for the Louisville Metro Revenue Commission has been moved from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020. In addition, the quarterly deposit deadline has been moved from April 15 to May 15.

In a statement, Mayor Fischer said, “We want to do all we can to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis and support our businesses and residents. The Revenue Commission will continue to work closely with Louisville Forward, the KYCPA, GLI, and Louisville Independent Business Alliance to ensure that these changes are communicated consistently throughout the business community.”

The U.S. Treasury Department recently announced an extension of the federal tax filing deadline from April 15 to July 15, and the Kentucky General Assembly is also considering legislation to conform state deadlines with federal deadlines. On March 19, Indiana moved its deadline to July 15.
